Air Conditioning
You should recharge your air conditioning system every 2 years with gas and lubricant, in order to keep it running efficiently. This is not included as part of a routine car service and so it can often be overlooked. If your car is more than 2 years old it is more than likely due a recharge.
We will check that your air conditioning system is working efficiently. A drop in gas pressure will result in a loss of cooling efficiency, which will make your engine work harder and in turn use more fuel.
Due to it’s dehumidifying properties, when operating fully efficiently, your air conditioning system will also de-mist your windscreen more rapidly in cold weather. Our technicians will take a temperature reading from your air conditioning system; remove all the old refrigerant gas, oil and dye. They then clean the whole system and remove any moisture within. Once the system has been thoroughly cleansed our technicians will inject new oil, dye and refrigerant gas. Then take a temperature reading again to ensure that the process has made a difference to the cold air temperature. This will ensure that your air conditioning system is working to its full potential.

We will also offer an air conditioning cleaner which sprays a chemical into the vents which removes all the harmful bacteria that can build up within the air conditioning system. By circulating a special cleaner through all air intakes and venting systems this service removes any unpleasant smells, leaving your car interior smelling clean and fresh.
